Food labelling: What do I have to label?

FOOD LABELLING: WHAT DO I HAVE TO LABEL?

Do you work with freshly prepared foods containing milk, cheese, yoghurt, eggs or similar products - or do you sell them? Do you process and sell perishable goods such as raw meat or raw fish? Then you must label these foods accordingly in accordance with applicable legislation and guidelines. The relevant legal bases are primarily the European FIR (Food Information Regulation) and the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) control system. For example, a best-before date is required for fresh food and an expiry date for perishable goods. It is also important to provide information on the correct storage of food.

It is your responsibility as a processor or seller of fresh or perishable food to ensure proper labelling. Only Meto's system solutions offer you legal certainty in the labelling and marking of fresh food. As a "Retail Label Expert", we have decades of experience in food labelling and work for well-known companies in the food service industry.
